Meet With Us
Once your application is reviewed, we will call you to schedule a meeting with school administrators. At that time, we'll also assemble any additional paperwork necessary to complete your application.

Age Requirements
Pre-K3
Reaches age 3 by September 1st of the current year.
Pre-K4
Reaches age 4 by September 1st of the current year.
Kindergarten
Reaches age 5 by September 1st of the current year.
Documents Required
- Certified, original birth certificate
- Social security card
- Baptism certificate, if Catholic
- Academic records (most recent report card & testing information)
- State of Alabama Immunization Certificate
- Copies of Divorce Decrees and/or Custody Judgements
- Letter from your Pastor, if coming from outside parish
Admissions Requirements
- Registration form completed and returned
- All financial obligations have been met
- Birth and baptism certificates received
- Academic records evaluated
- Interview with the principal
Tuition
Beginning the - school year, tuition costs are as follows:
Tuition payments are made through a series of 10 payments, made monthly from August 10th to May 10th.
Registration Fee
A non-refundable registration fee of $150 per student is required to reserve a spot for the next school year.
Additionally:
If you register before May 15th, $75 of your registration fee will go towards your first tuition payment.
Note that all other previously charged fees, including technology and activity fees, have been folded into the tuition rate, which allows families to budget for a single payment each month.
A signed Family Registration Agreement is required with the registration fee. Agreements are available in the school office.

Scholarship monies are available for deserving students at The Heart. These partial scholarships are awarded to provide some financial assistance to families in need, however, please note that the bulk of the responsibility for tuition cost does rest primarily with the family.

Heart Of Mary Scholarships
Heart of Mary School has partnered with FACTS Management Company provide a financial aid assessment. Scholarship amounts will vary based on need, as determined by FACTS. This a one-year scholarship and families must reapply each year.
Requirements to be considered for this scholarship include:
- First completing the Heart of Mary Application for Enrollment
- Completing the FACTS application for a Heart of Mary Scholarship
- Paying the $35 FACTS application fee, which is paid directly to FACTS
This scholarship application is currently open.

Alabama Accountability Act Scholarships
These scholarships are awarded through the Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund and not awarded though Heart of Mary School.*
If you are interested in applying for AOSF for the 2022-2023 school year, please visit their website at alabamascholarshipfund.org to complete the interest form.

Alabama Opportunity Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded through the Alabama Opportunity Scholarship Fund and not awarded though Heart of Mary School.*

Required Documents
If you are a new family that has not received the scholarship before, or if your student did not receive a scholarship for the 2022-2023 school year but has received a scholarship in previous years, you will need:
- All Alabama State Income Tax Returns for adults 18+ in the household
- If you have not filed a 2021 Alabama State Income Tax Return, you may alternatively provide your Federal 1040, W2, or 1099.
- If you are not required to file an Alabama State Income Tax return, you will electronically sign our Statement of No Wages during the application
- Your student's Birth Certificate, if they are entering kindergarten or the 12th grade
- Your child's 2021-2022 full-year Report Card
- We look at the type of school your child attended during the school year (public, private, etc.). We do not look at your child's grades.

WHERE CAN I FIND MY CHILD'S ZONED PUBLIC SCHOOL?
Enter your home address in the following website: https://app.guidek12.com/mobileal/school_search/current/ . It will give the list of public schools where your child would be zoned to.
IF I DON'T MEET THE ANNUAL INCOME REQUIREMENTS, IS IT STILL POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE THE SCHOLARSHIP?
Families who meet the annual income requirements are given higher priority when giving out scholarships. However, you can still submit an application so you can be notified if additional funding becomes available.
